INSTITUTIONAL BIOTECH HUB (SPONSORED BY DBT, GOVT.OF INDIA) DIMORIA COLLEGE, KHETRI, KAMRUP (METRO), ASSAM

Dimoria College is situated in a tribal belt area where most of the students are economically very poor and they do not have the capacity to go for higher education. The Institutional Biotech Hub(Sponsored by DBT, Govt of India), Dimoria College was established in the year,2014. With the establishment of Biotech hub in this locality the poor students of scientific temperament are able to learn or undergo training programmes on some basic techniques of biological sciences which they have never seen before. Various programmes such as National Science Day, World Environment Day, outreach Programmes, Awareness Programmes etc. were celebrated and conducted under the banner of Biotech Hub in this tribal belt college. More than three hundred students, research scholars and teachers were benefitted undergoing training programmes under the aegis of the hub. More than thirty number of M. Sc. students availed research facilities of the hub to work on their dissertation. Three faculties from Dimoria College also used the facilities of Hub to obtain their Ph.D.
