Facilities At Dimoria College
Class Room:
Sufficient number of class rooms with varying sizes are available for smooth conduct of different classes in the College.
Laboratories:
State of the Art Laboratories with sufficient space and all the necessary equiptment are made available to various departments. 'The Department of Science & Technology & UGC Govt. of India has provided them with various new equipment. softy, are like GPS& GIS a. a new Air condition. Computer Lab. which is being jointly utilised by the Departments of Environment Management &CoMputer Science. The laboratory of Geology Dept. is recognised by Gauhati University for Ph.D. research.
Library:
The Dimoria College Library is constructed with a State of the Art design and situated at a very calm location. It remains open from 9.00am to 5.00 pm. Students may borrow books from the library against library cards issued to them. The Central Library has a collection of more than 18,000 books. Moreover there are more than 12,000 books available in different departmental libraries. A good number of national & international Magazines, Periodicals, Journals and News papers are subscribed by the Library which has also got a rare reference book collection. The Library is automated by the book bank software developed by Pacific Technologies.
Museum:
The college has two museums. The first is in the Deptt. of Anthropology and 2nd is in the Deptt. of Folklore. They boast of a rich collection of artifacts and different cultural items of high value. 'Their objective is to highlight the rich ethno-cultural heritage of Assam in particular and North-East in general.Internet:
The College has a well equipped Internet Cafe in the library building with all the facilities of downloading and printing. Moreover all the Departments are linked to the Internet through Wi fi system.Audio Visual Aid:
>Dimoria College possesses overhead LCD Projectors. Laptops, DVD Players etc. which are used for Teaching, Learning, Seminars and Conferences.Auditorium:
A multipurpose Auditorium Complex with facilities for large meetings, cultural programmes and indoor sports activities.
Hostel Facilities:
Hostel facilities for girls is available. There are two hostels for girls. Hostel seats are allotted strictly on merit basis. Student can apply for hostel seats after taking admission to the college.Canteen:
Canteen for students,teachers & non-teaching staff is available in the college and remains open during working hours.
Sports Infrastructure:
The college has got a large playground, Basket Ball Court and facilities and equipment for different sports like Cricket, Football, Volleyball, Hockey, Badminton, Table Tennis and so on.
Scholarship:
Students belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC/ MOBC are awarded scholarship as per Govt. of Assam rules. This includes merit scholarship also.Introduction Of New Course:
The College has introduced PGDCA (Post-Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications) under GU. It is a two- semester (ono year) course. Graduate from any discipline can apply for the course. The PG students from this college can opt for this course as add-on course.Eligibility : Graduate in any discipline.
Course fee: Rs. 7500/- Per Semester.
